Artist Statement

My art stems from a creative consciousness, free from any and all conformities. It is not as a result of formal training, study, or direction. Consequently, it has no limitations nd fits no one category.

Subject matters are typically of the spiritual, natural, or physical realm and are sometimes even extraterrestrial in nature. They are based on life itself, or at least what I understand it to be, what I believe, and what I wish it to be.

How did you get started / interested in art? Why did you decide to be an artist?

I was an Artist before ‘I was’. As far as professionally, about a year ago, a friend of mine took some pictures of my work and sent it, unbeknown to me, to a bunch of galleries here in Miami. I was contacted by a few, decided to show at the Hangar Gallery in Wynwood Florida – The Art District Miami, for about a year, doing group shows.

What inspires you as an artist? Do you specialise in specific genres of art?

The universe and everything in it inspires me. My muse, however, is ‘love’ and the fact that even though we live in a chaotic world and are bombarded by reports of the worst of things, life is still beautiful, but we must choose to see that beauty.

Describe your work as an artist – medium used, etc ?

I use any and all mediums; I do not allow my self to be limited. I want my art to always be free and to always have an opportunity to grow as I do. Currently I use mainly the mediums of oil paints, charcoal, acrylics, aerosol and water colours, just to name a few.

What are your emotions like at the point in time when you are creating?

When I am creating, I try to put aside any other feelings that I might be holding on to, or may have absorbed through my encounters with others, prior to working. The only feeling I let in is LOVE, even if my subject matter is not a light; I do it out of pure love for what I do, as well as total humility. I remind myself every single time before I touch the canvas that it is not me creating, but rather creation working through me.
